Step 2: Installing the Operating System

To install the operating system, follow these steps and ill show you with screenshot if your going in the right direction:

1. Download the Raspberry Pi Imager on your computer.
2. Run the Raspberry Pi Imager

4. Now choose your device in this case its a Raspberry Pi 5
5. 
6. Now Choose your Operating System.
7. 
8. Select the Raspberry Pi OS (64-Bit) from the list.
9. 
10. Now choose your storage.
    
11. 
12. Select your microSD card as the storage device.
13. 
14. Click on Next to install the OS onto the microSD card.
15. 
16. You can select edit if you want to edit you setting for the SD Card when you put it in you PI but in this case we will stick to default and say No
17. 
18. You get a warning that the SD Card will be erased so click Yes to continue
19. 
20. This will start to write to your SD Card now and can take a while to finish.

22. When it has finished you will get this message

25. Once the process is complete, remove the microSD card from your computer.
